Flash Game: Dungeon Developer

Dungeon Developer (http://www.kongregate.com/games/nerdook/dungeon-developer?acomplete=dungeon) is a flash game where your goal is to lead adventurers higher and higher in your dungeon. there are 15 floor which you can map almost entirely by yourself, except monsters, traps and power-ups that are already set when you get the floor.
It's really fun to have those adventurers try to explore your dungeon until the final boss.
There are medals depending on how fast you can have the adventurers to finish it.
I've done it, on my first try, on 24 days which gave me the platinum medal :p

WoW: Nobody, part 2

So, my rogue finally made it out of the outlands, he's in northrend right now, taking a well earned break, while i'm doing a few other things right now, but nobody knows that, before the next week he will be back to the eastern kingdom, exploring Vash'jir the underwater zone.

WoW: Cataclysm

The new expansion of world of warcraft came out today, in a week the arena season will start and my rogue is still level 56... damn me for being lazy, i'd really better start leveling now so i can be 85, in 2 week if i try hard enough.
I'm aiming for the gladiator title for this arena season (gladiator title is given to the top 0.5% teams of a server), i'll be playing with 2 people i know. a mage and a paladin (or maybe a priest, depending which char he will feel like playing). wish me good luck

WoW: Jahnrae and Taraussa

Two days ago, i started playing with my friend as the Refer a friend program which was down for about 24h+ was finally up. So, he got his game updated and we started playing.
He created a character which he called Jahnrae, it's an undead rogue and i created a tauren paladin, called Taraussa (quite a shitty name, i know).
I did task for my natal land, mulgore for a while, then i received a message from him, asking some backup in the silverpine forest, he had some trouble dealing with a group of murloc he was asked to kill by some forsaken general.
I came and met him, and together we managed to get rid of them, now the silverpine forest is safe, we were asked to go to hillsbrand foothills and we are going to go there as soon as possible.

Il y a 2 jours, j'ai commencé a jouer avec mon ami car le programme de parainnage qui ne fonctionnait pas pendant à peut pres 24h a finallement fonctionné. Alors, il a mis a jour son jeu et nous avons commencer a jouer. Il a creer un personnage qu'il a nommé Jahnrae, il s'agit d'un voleur mort-vivant et moi j'ai créé un tauren
paladin répondant au nom de Taraussa (c'est vraiment un nom de merde, je sais ...).
J'ai travailler pour ma terre natale, Mulgore pendant un certain temps. Puis j'ai reçu un message venant de Jahnrae me demandant de le rejoindre a la forêt des pins argentés, car il avait une certaine difficultée a s'occuper d'un groupe de murloc qu'un general réprouvé lui a demandé d'éxterminer.
Je suis venu le retrouver, et ensemble nous les avons vaincus, maintenant que la forêt des pins argentée est sauvée on nous a demander de nous rendre aux contreforts de hautebrande et nous y allons aussi vite que possible.

You are a blue elephant and you will try to do the unthinkable, be it dieing many times or suiciding on every spike of a level... you will even be asked to, for some achievement, win a gamble game inside the game !
It's sadly quite short (took me about ~30 mins to beat it).

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Amnesia is a first person horror game, it focuses on the story and immersion in the game. The atmosphere is indeed quite scary, and you'll find youself at least a little scared quite often when you play it.It's worth to mention that he sounds are really well done and play a great role in the atmosphere in the game, be it your character's breathing or sudden sounds.One of the feature that's worth to mention is that you won't run around levels shooting at any monster that might try to stop you, but you will actually run from these monsters, defenseless, trying to hide and hope they don't find you.
For the storyline, it's quite simple: your name is Daniel and you are amnesiac. You are lost in a mysterious castle. Your only weapon is ... a lantern that you can use, if you have enough oil, to fight off the darkness, nothing else.
But your loneliness will soon come at an end when you will see, for the first time, someone, or something, through the fog ...You will soon find yourself searching for somewhere you could hide if he came everytime you enter a room.
And it's not all, because while you will have to care for this you will, as you get deeper and deeper in the castle, have to solve puzzles of increasing difficulty.

Amnesia est un jeu d'horreur a la première personne, ce jeu ce concentre sur l'histoire et l'ambiance. L’atmosphère est plutôt terrifiante, et vous serez souvent mort de peur pendant que vous y jouerez, car pour commencer vous ne vous baladerez pas avec 50 armes en mains dans ce jeu, si un monstre apparaît, la seule chose a faire est de fuir a toute vitesse et se cacher en esperant qu'il ne vous trouve pas. D'ailleurs il est intéressant de noter que l'ambiance sonore est plus qu'excellente et contribue grandement a l'ambiance du jeu.

Le début de l'histoire est plutôt simple: votre nom est Daniel et vous êtes amnésique et perdu dans un château plutôt mystérieux, l'objet que vous avez qui s'approche le plus d'une arme est une lanterne, que vous pourrez utiliser pour combattre les ténèbres ... a condition qu'il vous reste de l'huile.
Bien que vous soyez seuls au début du jeu, ne vous inquiétez pas, cette solitude va vite disparaitre des que vous allez croiser, pour la premiere fois, quelque chose ou quelqu'un, a peine visible a travers le brouillard... Peu de temps aprés vous serez en train de chercher un endroit ou vous cacher des que vous entrerez dans une piece, au cas ou "il" viendrait.
En plus de cela vous allez devoir, au fur et a mesure que vous vous enfoncez dans le château, faire face a des puzzles de difficulté croissante.

Well, there's nothing new today but to keep you waiting i made the video for the base capture mode, and tomorrow i'll write something about a game that i love to play; Amnesia: the dark descent.

YAY, i've finally got 200 followers, i'm really glad that you guys are coming to my blog, thanks to everyone for this.

Bloodline Champions: Base Capture.

Base Capture is the 3rd and last mode that is actually implemented in the game, the goal is to take and hold a set number of base. to take a base you must stay on a small circle for about 10 seconds without moving out of it. whenever a team has all the bases they win the game by killing all champions of the enemy team (if your team has no bases you don't respawn after death) or by holding these bases for about a minute.

I'll add a video of the mode tomorrow, today was quite though and i'm to tired to play and record myself. sorry guys.

Bloodline Champions: Harbinger.

The Harbinger is a great champion, he have some neat ranged damage and it's almost impossible to escape him once he target you since he can pull you, become invincible, slow you and finally teleport to you, slowing you at the point of impact, and even more awesome, his auto-attack steal hit points, making him really viable to piss off a single enemy.


(i wasn't here the whole week-end, was my grandfather's brithday, so the video isn't mine but one i found on youtube :/)

Bloodline Champions: Capture The Artifact

In Bloodline Champions you can play 3 different mods the 1st one, arena, is just a deathmatch, like shown in the last video i uploaded. This time i chose to show you the mod called Capture The Artifact (CTA). It's based on a Capture the flag game with a twist. there are 2 Artifact, one in each base, your goal is to get both artifact in your base (the heroes can carry an artifact but won't be able to use teleport abilities and will be slowed). Once you've managed to get both your artifact by playing as a team, you must keep both of them for about one minute.



Also, i'd like to know if anyone out there know a better video editing program than Windows movie maker and a good program to record yourself speaking wether they are free or not.

Flash Game

Brainwaves is a fun and for once, short flash game that will test your speed, accuracy, perception, reactions, multitasking, memory and coordination with a few minigames which are quite fun, taking all these isn't really long, it doesn't take more than ~10 mins.

In this picture are my results after taking the test for the first time, i find it quite good because i hadn't a mouse nearby, so playing some of these with just the touch-pad was good; but i got every of these to 100% after 2 or 3 tries max (except accuracy which took me about 5 or 6 time ...).

So, try it, tell me what you think. if i can get fraps to work, i'll post a vid of me playing bloodline champions tomorrow or the day after (even through i suck at this game ...)

Bloodline Champion: Gunner

So, i started playing bloodline champions seriously and there are 2 champions which i am fond of, the first one is the 'gunner' it's quite of a sniper, he can blind, go invisible and stun; all of this from a quite long distance without taking much risk; the invisibility allow you to get your spells ready quietly while your team mates start attacking the enemies, or to escape dangerous situation.

Bloodline Champion

Bloodline Champion is a MOBA (massive online battle arena). In this game you will choose a "champion", or "hero" that you will play for a few round against other players in a arena. It's still in beta stages but the gameplay is quite awesome. This is a gameplay video.

I really liked this game because i really love the moba style games. i've been a DotA player for a long time and  i've played for a good time Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends but i finally like this more since the action is a way more intense without the creeps that you have to follow as they are being pushed back and forth.

Flash Game: Firefly

Firefly is a cool flash game where you play a firefly that will try to eat pills to light up caves. it sounds quite simple and in fact, it is quite simple, yet the graphism of the games are quite good (black & white, minimalist) and gives some nice ambiance.

Flash Game: Intospace!

IntoSpace! is a flash game where you have to launch arocket intospace; for every run you do, your height will grant you money to upgrade your rocket and go higher everytime.
There are a lot of different upgrade, be it your air resistance, fuel consumption, fuel tank, ...
Tehre are also some mini-achievement to be done ingame that will grant you money.

Flash Game: Wizards Run

Wizards Run is a top-down shooter with some rpg elements, you have to defeat hordes of monsters to go through 9 levels. you will upgrade your wizard in a talent tree, be it fire to become a pyromancer, ice or holy. Want to try it ? go ahead, tell me what you think about it.

Flash Game: Globetrotter XL

In Globetrotter XL you have to find location of cities on a world map, it's an extreme test for your geography skills, i really suck at it but well, i wondered, after trying it a few time, to which level can you get ? i wonder if someone goes higher than 4 or 5, my record is level 2, i really suck at geography ...

Flash Game: Road of the dead

Road of the dead is a nice flash game in which you will ride and upgrade a car. you will be on a highway and try, or die trying to escape this city, but there will be military and zombies to stop you. Be ready to get scared by zombies on your windshield, use your handbrake to get through though momments. or try to crash an helicopter by leading him into highway signs.
The storyline is quite good, and so are the graphics, music, and sound effects. yet there is a setback, if there are soldiers and zombies near each other, they won't interact, even if the militaries would focus on stopping you, zombies should actually try to get to them.
so i personally think that it's quite a great flash game, definitely worth a try, give me some feedback, tell me what do you think about this game.

sorry for not posting a lot lately, i've been on holydays, so i couldn't really post (no internet...). But i'm back and i'll resume posting.

Blizzcon 2010

Sorry for not posting for the past few days but i went to the blizzcon 2010. It was quite awesome and i really enjoyed it.

Flash Game: Epic Combo

Epic Combo is a fun flash game where you, a business man with a giant hammer, will put a lot of different traps (automatic guns, lasers, saws, bumpers, mines) to achieve your goal of doing a combo of 10,000 turtle shell bounce.
It's not a hard game or anything and doesn't last long (took me about 10 minutes to finish) but it's quite fun to watch a thousand of shell bouncing in all direction while being bumped by all your traps.

As a side note, i'm quite healed now, i'll try to do daily updates again.

Flash Game: Mastermind: The World Conquerer

Mastermind: The World Conquerer is a nice flash game where you will have to take care of your economy, steal science to advance through the game and defend against waves of attackers, it can seem quite hard when you start but once you get it it's sadly too easy, but it's still a good game to kill time, despite the low difficulty.
Try it if you've got some free time or are bored.
Also, as a side note, i'm starting to feel better.

Flash Game: Nanopath

Nanopath is a nice puzzler game where you have to guide a small ball through many levels, try it if you like puzzle games, it's decent, not mighty but it's quite decent if you like that kind of game.

Flash Game: Hunted Forever

here you can see the machine, firing a laser.

Hunted Forever is a flash game where you have to run away from a big bad machine that fire lazers, homing saw (yeah, homing saw ...) and missiles while collecting cogs and getting to safe houses.

You will run, jump and even walljump in this platformer game while avoiding the deadly attacks of the machine, to my mind the only fun mode is hardcore (no respawn & extreme difficulty) it's quite hard but really rewarding when you manage to beat it.

Flash Game: Whack You Boss

Had a bad day ? your boss pissed you again yet you couldn't do anything expect nodding and going: "yeah"...
Then free yourself from the anger by whacking your boss in this funny flash game where you have to whack your boss in many different ways.

Flash Game: Learn To Fly

Learn to fly is a game about a penguin who saw on "Kiwipedia" that he was a flightless bird. He didn't like it so he decided to prove that he could fly.
The comments are quite easy, you adjust the angle at which your penguin is flying by pressing the left & right arrows and the spacebar to use your rockets once you get them. there are several upgrades that will allow you to go further and faster; you can reduce your air resistance, increase your acceleration while going down the beggining ramp and increase it's height.
The game itself have several mini achievement that will net you some money to spend: every ramp have a flight length achievement where you have to glide for X seconds, a speed where you must attain a certain speed and a height one where you are supposed to go up to a certain height and one where you must go up to a certain distance.
Try it, it's quite a good game.

Game: Karoshi

Karoshi (a japanese word that could be translated as "death from overwork") is a platformer/puzzler game where you are actually thinking about ways you could kill yourself. yeah, the goal of the game is to die, whether is it by your gun or crushed by a crate, you have to die.

Flash Game: Line Rider

Line Rider is a 2D game without any real goals, it's basically a sandbox game where you are drawing lines for a little guy to ride.
There are 3 differents kind of lines (colors are only visible in the editor, in game everything is black & white):
-the normal lines, they are blue and your guy will ride on them
-the accelerating lines, they are red and will make him accelerate.
-the scenery lines, they are green and used for scenery
You can even have him to do wheelies, go through loops,... When your track is ready, you can start it and see if it's done right or if this guy crashes.

Flash Game: Tanks

Tanks is a fun 2D flash game and can be easily played at school / work if you have someone to play with. It's designed to be played by two players or more. Your goal will be to destroy enemy tanks, which will land you some credits to buy better weaponry. You have a lot of weapons and items to use, ranging from the missile to the airstrike, with of course a teleport tool that you can use to hide behind or to go though mountains.
Every time you fire you will be able to choose the force and angle at which the projectile while go (and you will have to take care about the wind hehe).

Flash Game: rocket science

Rocket Sience is another fun flash game, you are trying to hit different planet with a rocket that you can drag around, it's quite a fun game if you've got a few minutes to spend and don't know what to do.

Flash Game: The Enchanted Cave

The Enchanted Cave is a rogue-like game, you will go down a dungeon that is 100 level deep and loot a lot of different items on your way down, it's quite good and kills some time when you have nothing better to do.

Doodle God

Doodle God is a game where you will try to fuse elements together to unlock every different elements in the game, it's only about this and it's quite entertaining as long as it lasts and also quite relaxing as it's not reflex heavy or anything.

Flash Game: Two Rooms

This is a simple, yet fun puzzle game.

In Two-Rooms, you have to move 2 squares that are in 2 different rooms, but you can only move one at a time, so you'll have to change between them to have one of them get to the end. but there are doors that must be triggered by switches that will try to stop you from advancing through the maze.

Flash Game: Circle The Cat

This is a funny flash game i found today, your goal is to circle a cat while he tries to escape on the borders of the screen, be carefull, it's quite addictive and the cat is smart. This is a link to the game.

I Wanna Be The Guy

IWBTG, or I wanna be the guy is a game in which you'll play "the kid" on his journey to becoming "the guy". It's a platformer game in which your role will be to move from screen to screen, eventually fighting bosses on your way to becoming "the guy".

This is actually one of the hardest game that was ever made, you luckily have check-points and infinite lives, yet, it's really hard, you will be attacked by apples, spike walls ... you might even die in tetris or killed by link ! This game is only for people who like extreme challenges and have good nerves, there are many differents traps and you will find yourself dieing a way more than you though it's possible to when trying to finish a game.

To help you on your journey you are able to double jump and have a small gun that will be used to fire at occasional enemiesand to kill bosses.

IWBTG is a game for people who don't fear dieing multiple time just to move from a small screen to another one.

Portal

Portal, is a game where you are given a single and unique weapon which can create ... Portals ... when you enter a portal, you exit the other one at the same speed, but facing the direction of the exiting portal, which allow you to access higher places, ...

The real challenge of this game is that you must think with the portals, but sadly, the game is in my opinion way too short.

I would tell anyone who'd like enjoy a new and refreshing gaming experience to give a try to portal if he haven't already, because even though it short, it's still a great game.

Some people (like me) may find the user created maps interesting, because some of these are really well made.

Civilization V

Civilization V is a Turn Based Strategy game, which means that players will all play their turns, unlike RTS (real time strategy) there is no micromanagement needed as you just order your units what they have to do and don't control them during battle which let players having to focus on their macromanagement only.

I started playing it yesterday and i must say that it's quite good and worth it, if you liked Civilization IV you'll like this one.

There are several ways to win the game, i personally only try to win using the Scientific victory, in which you have to be the first to sucessfully build and assemble a spaceship, granting you victory, i like to play this way because i really like teching up :p

I played my first game on an easy difficulty settings and i'm actually starting my second game, i'll try to do this one on an higher difficulty setting so it will be more challenging.

Pandemic 2

I'm going to start playing Civilization V today or tomorrow, it's more than likely that i'll make a review on it by then. For now i'll speak of a 'funny' flash game i found today (it's quite old i know, but i'm not really a flash game player). It's called Pandemic 2. In this game you are playing a virus which you can upgrade, your goal is to kill every single human being on earth.

For those who played the game, you will understand this picture... and wether it makes you rage or remember how realistic it was, i hope you'll find it acruate, for others, just try playing this game and you'll understand :) .







One of the best thing in this game is, for me, the upgrade system, you can really customize your own virus the way you want, this is a screenshot of the upgrade screen:

Minecraft

I was asked to make a small review on minecraft, so i'll go forward.
MineCraft, is agame made by "Notch". on minecraft's website you can play for free a sandbox version of the game where you can just hang around the world generated by the game and place blocks, which is really cool for some people who will make Giant structures or just art.

However, if you purchase minecraft, you will enter in a giant world filled with caves to explore. you may even find diamond if you dig deep enough. Whenever you mine a block it will give you some recources (diamond ore if you find a diamond vein). you can build
a lot of items with the different thing that you harvest
(pickaxes, axes, swords, armors, ...).



Yet, the best part of minecraft is, in my opinion, when the night arrives or when you are going in a deep cavern because it will cause different kind of monsters to spawn around and try to kill you. The enemies that are the funniest and the worth at the same time are called "creepers" they will walk near you and explode in an attempt to take your life, but there are also spiders, skeletons and even zombies.
This video shows someone who traped a few of these creepers and caused them to explode ... quite scary when you think that tonight one of them might wait you in your cave.




In Minecraft the only thing that limits you is your imagination, it became even more true when the multiplayer started. Thanks to the multiplayer you can go and build floating castles, underwater domes, and even more things.

League of Legends

Riot anounced that soon, a new map will be introduced to LoL and the graphism will be improved. With this we'll have a total of 3 maps. a map where we fight on 5v5, taking DotA's design mostly, a 3v3 map made for ganking and fast games (they usually last 10 to 15 less minutes than the other one). And a new 5v5 map, which will come with new monsters, teleporters and even more awesome things.


On a side note, one of the champion that i enjoy playing the most is Annivia, it's a frost phoenix with, to my mind,  the most awesome skill set you could hope to have on any champion.

also, for my next entry, i'll try to speak a little about minecraft which i was asked to review.

LeagueOfLegends

I started playing LeagueOfLegends a while ago, to start with, leagueoflegends is a game based on DotA (a popular Warcraft3 mod). It's a free to play game and it's quite fun. For people who don't know about DotA or LoL, the goal of the game is to get to and destroy the enemy base.
